At the middle school level, Junior Achievement of Greater Washington is committed to providing every student in our region with the tools to be financially capable through the dynamic, hands-on JA Finance Park experience. JA® also has a number of proven in-classroom programs designed to be delivered at the middle school level, exploring each of our three pillars of financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship.
JA It's My Business! Blended Model provides middle school students an opportunity to experience the initial steps of a business startup. New program content provides an authentic entrepreneurial experience for students with each session building toward a product-pitch competition.
JA Global Marketplace - Blended Model gives students an opportunity to experience the worldwide interdependence of producers, consumers, and the global workforce by playing the role of business owners and managers at the international Free Trade Market.
In middle school, students are growing more aware of the skills, interests and values that will be the foundation for their career and lifestyle choices. JA Economics for Success harnesses this curiosity with activities that connect personal finance with education and career choices and relates these to making informed financial decisions, regardless of income.
Students leave behind their lives as middle school students and take on a career with a salary, family, and financial obligations. In this hands-on "mini-city," students make the same spending decisions that you and I make each month, learning importance lessons about owning their financial success as they are inspired to think carefully about their future and their choices in life.
