Junior Achievement of Greater Washington, the Greater Washington Board of Trade and Washingtonian magazine have released their 2015 Washington Business Hall of Fame laureates, and the five business leaders deemed outstanding this year are:
- Seth Goldman, co-founder, Honest Tea, Inc.
- Sheila Johnson, CEO, Salamander Hotels and Resorts
- Joe Rigby, chief executive, Pepco Holdings Inc.
- John Toups, former chief executive, Planning Research Corp. Inc.
- J. Scott Wilfong, chief executive, SunTrust Bank, Greater Washington/Maryland
“This year’s laureates are an example of what’s possible from our region’s business leaders,” said Ed Grenier, president and CEO of Junior Achievement of Greater Washington. “Their passion for excellence and steadfast commitment to this community is an inspiration to all of us, and a lesson in leadership for Greater Washington’s figure leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs.
The Washington Business Hall of Fame was created in 1988. Its annal gala is a fundraiser for Junior Achievement.
This year’s black-tie awards ceremony is Dec. 2 at the National Building Museum. It is expected to draw more than 1,200 attendees and raise $1.2 million for Junior Achievement of Greater Washington’s K-12 programs.
