Marymount University has agreed to partner with JA of Greater Washington to help educate middle schoolers about the costs of furthering their education and the value of a world-class college education in achieving their dreams.  Marymount University will serve as the Education Storefront partner at JA Finance Park in Fairfax County, Virginia.

As the Education Storefront partner, Marymount University will challenge students to think about their lives after high school and imagine the direction they want to go to live their own American dream.

Increasingly, a college education is required to maximize marketability in the job force. According to a 2016 JA Alumni Report, students who experience JA programming are 30% more likely to have a bachelor’s degree and 67% more likely to have an advanced degree than the general population. Through this partnership, Marymount University will have the opportunity to impact, reinforce and grow this statistic.

“Marymount University is excited to partner with Junior Achievement to encourage the next generation of leaders to pursue a college education and become equipped with the 21st century skills required in today’s global workplace,” said Marymount University President Matthew D. Shank.  “JA Finance Park demonstrates the kind of real-world hands-on learning that is a pillar of the Marymount educational mission.”
