Greater Washington Futures (February)

I want to tell you about George
Elizabeth Andrew once said, "Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart." I don't think there could be truer words written about our very own JA® volunteers.

And, as we gear up to celebrate National Volunteer Week in just a few short weeks, it's important that we here at Junior Achievement® stop to reflect on what role they play in inspiring the next generation with hope for the future.

The value of our volunteer leaders truly cannot be understated.

Our volunteers make the time. And our volunteers come from companies that believe in JA® and support their employees' volunteer involvement. Take for example George Kreutz, an employee of one of our partner companies, HESS Construction + Engineering Services. In an article we wrote about an experience George had at a JA® in a Day at Ridgeview Middle School, he noted that even when things are busy, employees are encouraged to get involved, get into the classroom, and make a difference with JA®.

From all of us here at JA®, thank you. Every kid is one caring adult away from a success story, and you are helping the next generation of Washingtonians write their own.

BALTIMORE SUN: GIVING KIDS A REALISTIC CAREER PATH
You've heard the question dozens of times: "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Children living in poverty have few ideas and even fewer role models to point the way.
