2019 Washington Business Hall of Fame Laureates Announced
Junior Achievement of Greater Washington Honors Local Visionaries Shaping Tomorrow’s Leaders
WASHINGTON, D. C. (June 11, 2019) – The Washington Business Hall of Fame and Junior Achievement of Greater Washington (JA) has announced its 2019 laureate inductees. This year’s class of distinguished honorees will be celebrated for their professional and philanthropic contributions to the quality of life in Greater Washington through the private sector economy. The 2019 Washington Business Hall of Fame laureates include:
Marla Beck – Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder, Bluemercury, Inc.
Daniel A. D’Aniello – Co-Founder & Chairman Emeritus, The Carlyle Group
Mike Daniels – Former Chairman & CEO, Network Solutions
Douglas Jemal – Founder & President, Douglas Development Corporation

Since its founding in 1988, more than 100 laureates have been inducted into the Washington Business Hall of Fame. Laureates have been selected for consistently demonstrating excellence in business, visionary leadership, and an ongoing commitment to community engagement. Through their commitment to the Washington D.C. community, this year’s honorees demonstrate these attributes in every facet of their lives.
Chaired by Susan Lacz, Principal and CEO, Ridgewells, the 2019 Washington Business Hall of Fame is presented by Capital One and Ridgewells, and supported by business partners, the Greater Washington Board of Trade and the Washington Business Journal.

The 2019 laureates will be honored at the Washington Business Hall of Fame black-tie gala and awards ceremony on December 4, 2019 at The Anthem in Washington D.C. The gala, which brings together more than 1,100 high-level D.C. luminaries, will benefit Junior Achievement of Greater Washington and their work to prepare the next generation of leaders to be future ready.
